Tiny garden in Espoo
This small detached house garden had potential but lacked year-round appeal. A spring-blooming hedge offered seasonal beauty, but the lawn dried out by midsummer, and scattered shrubs gave the space little structure. The sunlit patio felt bare and exposed, with no privacy from neighbors.
To bring the space to life, we planted long-desired trees - even in pots - and added a Thuja hedge alongside existing shrubs for increased privacy. Clearing an overgrown slope made room for new trees and a small kitchen garden with kale and salad greens.
An arch was installed to mark the entrance to the yard, adding charm and structure. A water feature followed, introducing a sense of calm and movement.
Today, the garden offers everything needed in a compact space - a place to relax, enjoy, and simply be.

Summer cottage garden
This summer house garden began as a simple, open space with little structure. To create a more lush and inviting feel, much of the lawn was replaced with layered planting that adds privacy and interest throughout the garden.
Key elements were refreshed - the pergola painted white, outdated materials removed, and overgrown shrubs reshaped. New plantings, including roses, hydrangeas, phlox, and catmint, bring softness and seasonal color.
A former vegetable plot was redesigned as a cozy fireplace area, while a small kitchen garden with a pink seating nook offers a peaceful spot for morning coffee and fresh harvests.
The result is a balanced, naturalistic space that’s both functional and beautiful.
